Vegreville Visual Artists
Mission and Goals:
• To promote visual art in the community of Vegreville
• To create public art for citizens and visitors to enjoy and to beautify the town
• To encourage, elevate and support the visual artists in Vegreville
• Meet the ongoing needs and interests of members, regardless of their abilities or aspirations
• To provide citizens opportunities to experience and participate in various art endeavors
History:
• Formed as a non-profit organization in 2014
• Often works in partnership with the Vegreville Tourism, Recreation and Culture Board and Chamber of Commerce
• Community Commission Art work by member artists: St. Joseph's Hospital murals, Visitor Information Centre doors, VALID boardroom mural, Senior Sunshine Club's outdoor sign, Rotary Park Canada 150, Shovel Project
• Members volunteer in schools for art classes, library summer programs, VALID Staff Enrichment
• Work with Junior Artists in High School
• Organize and maintain Public Art Galleries: St. Joseph's Hospital "In-House" Gallery, Vegreville Centennial Library, Vegreville Dental Center
• Plan and organize shows, sales, workshops, classes, Fall & Spring Art Series, Grape Art (Paint Night) evenings
